WASHINGTON -- Small wonder Congress has kept federal highway and transit programs teetering on the edge of insolvency for years, unable to find a politically acceptable long-term source of funds. The public can't make up its mind on how to pay for them either. Six in 10 Americans think the economic benefits of good highways, railroads and airports outweigh the cost to taxpayers. Yet there is scant support for some of the most frequently discussed options for paying for construction of new roads or the upkeep of existing ones, according to a new Associated Press-GfK poll.

Advisors' Opinion:- [By Rich Smith]
This series, brought to you by Yahoo! Finance, looks at which upgrades and downgrades make sense, and which ones investors should act on. Today, our headlines feature a pair of downgrades for lululemon athletica (NASDAQ: LULU ) and Roadrunner Transportation (NYSE: RRTS ) . But the news isn't all bad, so before we get into that news, let's find out first why one analyst thinks...
- [By Seth Jayson]
Margins matter. The more Roadrunner Transportation Systems (NYSE: RRTS ) keeps of each buck it earns in revenue, the more money it has to invest in growth, fund new strategic plans, or (gasp!) distribute to shareholders. Healthy margins often separate pretenders from the best stocks in the market. That's why we check up on margins at least once a quarter in this series. I'm looking for the absolute numbers, so I can compare them to current and potential competitors, and any trend that may tell me how strong Roadrunner Transportation Systems's competitive position could be.

Top losers in the sector included Endeavour Silver (NYSE: EXK), off 4 percent, and Hecla Mining Co (NYSE: HL), down 3.5 percent.
Top Headline
Halliburton (NYSE: HAL) posted a profit in the first quarter. Halliburton swung to a quarterly profit of $622 million, or $0.73 per share, versus a year-ago loss of $18 million, or $0.02 per share. Its income from continuing operations came in at $0.73 per share. Its total revenue climbed to $7.35 billion versus $6.97 billion. However, analysts were estimating earnings of $0.72 per share on revenue of $7.26 billion. - [By Selena Maranjian]
Endeavor Silver (NYSE: EXK ) sank 58%. It's focused on silver mines in Mexico and also mines gold. Last month, due to one of its three mines outperforming, management raised silver-production projections by 20%, representing a 34% increase over 2012 levels. Gold-production forecasts were hiked 48%. Not all mines are performing well, though, and the price of silver has fallen, so the company has been cutting costs, in part via layoffs.

In this article I'll have a look at Endeavour Silver's (EXK) second quarter results. In an earlier article I was afraid the company would be free cash flow negative at a silver price of $20/oz. I'll now have a look at the financial results to see if the company indeed had a net cash outflow, and what consequence this had on its balance sheet.

Advisors' Opinion:- [By Demitrios Kalogeropoulos]
Don't write offNintendo's (NASDAQOTH: NTDOY ) chances for a strong holiday season just yet. Yes, even with a year's head start, the company's next-generation Wii U has been badly trailing sales of current-gen consoles from Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT ) andSony (NYSE: SNE ) . But that could be set to change soon.
- [By Anders Bylund]
But you'll notice a few important and popular boxes missing from the lineup above. If Sony supports two generations of PlayStations, where's the Xbox One? And what happened to Nintendo (NASDAQOTH: NTDOY ) ?
- [By Keith Noonan]
The latest gaming consoles have hit store shelves in most major sales territories with varying degrees of success. Sony's (NYSE: SNE ) more powerful hardware and gaming-centric design for the PlayStation 4 seems to be getting the best reception. The multimedia focus of the Microsoft (NASDAQ: MSFT ) Xbox One and its associated Kinect 2.0 camera drive up the system's price, potentially causing consumers to look elsewhere. Meanwhile, Nintendo's (NASDAQOTH: NTDOY ) Wii U console was designed and marketed around its GamePad controller, a device in which most of the market apparently has no interest.
